VANILLA WITH A CHERRY ON TOP

Kitchen Remodel

Twenty years had passed since these empty nesters built their beautiful home when they decided it was time to embark on a kitchen remodel. Fortunately, the original layout had endured the test of time, so our focus became updating the style and improving the function of the space while maintaining the locations of all existing appliances, windows, sinks, and flooring.

Additional desires for their new kitchen included island seating for their grandchildren to gather around and a brighter space that would coordinate well with the adjacent rooms in the open layout of their home.

We seamlessly integrated the old with the new, incorporating into their new kitchen cabinetry some of the ornate details from their furnishings acquired from their many travels around the world. Cherry cabinetry added as an accent coordinates with the other woodwork in the home, helping to unify the spaces, and complimentary vanilla colored cabinetry brightens the room.

In addition to aesthetic improvements, we also incorporated many functional improvements. Pull out tray dividers, appliance garages, many drawers and roll out shelves, pull out storage for utensils, spices and oils, drawer organizers a-plenty, and appliances hidden within the cabinetry all ensure that the new kitchen functions as beautifully as it looks. The cherry on top? A stunning transformation, all done without any structural changes. Deliciously beautiful, wonderfully functional.
