MIDCENTURY FARMHOUSE FUSION Kitchen Remodel
Our homeowner dreamed of updating her kitchen the instant she took possession of her new home. Staying within the footprint was a must as was stylistically melding her desired midcentury farmhouse aesthetic with the rest of the colonial-styled home. Additional storage with increased countertop space was high on her design wish list.
The star in this kitchen show is the stunning graphic backsplash tile. It’s easy to see why the homeowner fell head over heels for this tile as it frames the beautiful two-toned white and stained wood cabinetry. Open shelving keeps the design light against the striking backsplash, while an apron sink sits below.
The countertops have a clean modern line and a speckled worn terrazzo look. The unique design of the counter overhang allows for seating at one end of the room and helps separate the kitchen from the rest of the house.
In the end, this kitchen is a beautiful medley of subtle farmhouse and midcentury sensibilities.
