Is your kitchen outdated? Don’t worry, ours was too! If you’ve never visited our Minneapolis kitchen showroom at International Market Square, we have a beautiful kitchen showroom with multiple displays that homeowners can peruse for inspiration and ideas. And, just like the kitchen in your home, one of our kitchens needed an update. While the function of a kitchen generally stays the same, how people use their kitchens and style trends are always evolving. Our company has been in this industry for over 30 years, and we’ve always made a commitment to staying up to date on the latest in kitchen design. We wouldn’t still be here if we didn’t! So, we set out to updating one of our more classic displays. Our new showroom display, which you’ll learn more about shortly, reflects what is new and fresh in kitchen design but also sticks to our belief that a kitchen must function as beautifully as it looks. After all, great functionality never goes out of style!
Our New Kitchen Showroom – Classic with a Twist
Our new display is reminiscent of the classic black and white kitchen, but with an updated, modern farmhouse feel. Texture and contrast play significant roles in the design, as there are only 2 main colors – black and white – with accents of antique brass. The lace-colored inset perimeter cabinetry provides a smooth, clean base for the Via Lattea granite’s satin textured finish. The exact opposite is featured on the island; black rustic patina oak cabinetry topped with honed Copenhagen granite.
Both the perimeter and island cabinetry are grounded by the warm, lime-washed oak appearance of the vinyl wood plank flooring, which provides a neutral backdrop for the contrasting materials. A custom-designed hood brings the rustic element of the island cabinetry into the perimeter, and is set against a field of glossy, brick-look tile. The space is tied together with touches of antique brass, a metal which has seen a resurgence in popularity and has emerged as one of the hottest trends in kitchen design today.
Functionality is hidden everywhere within the design. From two-tiered drawer inserts and a unique pantry base cabinet, to a pull out with built-in universal knife blocks and utensil storage, we’ve made sure every inch of space is well-planned, well-executed and easy to use – just as with every project we design.
